VoIP monitoring tools in Brazil: how to choose
VoIP monitoring tools come in three kinds: network and passive capture tools, which watch what already exists; the PBX's own panels, which show the state of the exchange; and tools that place real test calls, which dial the way a customer does. This guide compares nine of them, says who each one suits, and marks as not verified anything we could not find in a public source.
Summary
- Network and passive capture tools (PRTG, Zabbix, VoIPmonitor, SolarWinds, Site24x7) show what the network and the PBX report, but in the sources we read none of them dials an 0800 number or an IVR.
- PBX panels show the state of trunks, extensions and queues according to the exchange itself; they do not say whether a call from outside completes.
- Real test-call tools (Sipfront, Klearcom, Cyara and Monitor by 2N5) dial numbers and check the result; they differ in reach, in how they measure audio and in who runs the service.
- In Portuguese, of the nine, we found Portuguese pages for PRTG, SolarWinds and Site24x7, plus Monitor; Sipfront, Klearcom and Cyara have no Brazilian Portuguese pages.
- Monitor is not the right choice for deep packet capture or for load testing an IVR.
What are the three kinds of VoIP monitoring tool?
Network and passive capture. They watch what already exists: network sensors, server indicators or copies of call traffic. PRTG, Zabbix, VoIPmonitor, SolarWinds and Site24x7 belong here. They suit anyone who wants infrastructure health or analysis of calls that already happened. In the sources we read, none of them dials an 0800 number.
PBX panels. Each exchange shows the state of its own trunks, extensions and queues. That helps run the PBX, but it is the exchange talking about itself: a trunk can show as registered while a caller from outside hears silence.
Real test calls. They dial an actual number at the agreed pace and check whether the call completed, whether the right message answered and how the audio sounded. Sipfront, Klearcom, Cyara and Monitor by 2N5 belong here. It is the way to find out, before your customer does, that the 0800 or the IVR stopped. The full explanation is in voice circuit monitoring.
How do the nine tools compare?
Each cell comes from the sources listed in this guide, in research dated 2026-10-14. Not verified means we did not find the fact in a public source; it does not mean “no”. No price was invented. On narrow screens the table scrolls inside its own box.

What does each tool do?
PRTG
Sensor-based monitoring. In the pages we read, VoIP shows up as SIP OPTIONS ping, QoS round trip and Cisco IP SLA, with MOS estimated from the network. We found no dialing to the public network, 0800 or IVR. Paessler has Brazilian Portuguese pages, including one on VoIP monitoring, and Brazil is its largest market in Latin America. Source: Paessler, VoIP monitoring. See the comparison with PRTG.
Zabbix
Open source. The “Asterisk by HTTP” template reads the status of Asterisk trunks, peers, channels and queues; it places no test calls and does not score audio. Source: Zabbix, Asterisk integration. See the comparison with Zabbix.
VoIPmonitor
Passive SIP and RTP capture, with MOS, one-way audio detection and fraud rules. It places no calls: it only analyzes the traffic that crosses the capture. Source: VoIPmonitor. See the comparison with VoIPmonitor.
SolarWinds VNQM
Combines IP SLA with call record analysis (CDR and CMR). We found no real test calls. It has a Portuguese page. Source: SolarWinds VoIP and Network Quality Manager.
Site24x7
It has Portuguese pages for VoIP monitoring (through IP SLA), website defacement and mail server monitoring. Whether it places real test calls, we did not verify. Source: Site24x7, VoIP monitoring.
Sipfront
A voice-testing service in the cloud, with four modules: Beat (24/7 synthetic calls), Probe, Lens (SLA) and Echo. Prices from €89 to €99 per month. We found no Brazilian Portuguese pages. Source: Sipfront, SIP monitoring. See the comparison with Sipfront.
Klearcom
Testing of toll and toll-free numbers and IVRs in more than 100 countries, with 24/7 triage. It has a page for people switching from Cyara. We found no Brazilian Portuguese pages. Source: Klearcom, IVR testing.
Cyara
A customer-experience (CX) assurance and AI-trust platform, with Botium, Voice Assure, Pulse and Number Trust. Cyara acquired Spearline in March 2023, and spearline.com redirects to cyara.com. The Number Trust details were not verified. Source: Cyara. See the Cyara alternatives.
Monitor by 2N5
A managed service that places real SIP calls to SIP trunks, 0800 numbers and IVRs, with DTMF navigation. The audio score is MOS-LQO, measured on the call itself against a reference recording (ITU-T P.800.1). A failure only becomes an alert after it is repeated, and the alert climbs through tiers until someone takes over. In Portuguese and English. The platform runs on servers in the United States, not in Brazil; test calls go out through carriers in Brazil. The price is not published. See toll-free and IVR monitoring and SIP trunk monitoring.
What about the other tools that show up in searches?
Hammer VoiceWatch became VistaCX Watch, from Infovista, which schedules test calls every 5, 10 or 15 minutes with a retest before alerting (Infovista). SipPulse, a Brazilian SBC and softswitch company, publishes content on MOS and voice quality (SipPulse). Each has a different focus from the nine in the table.
When is Monitor not the right choice?
- Deep packet capture. To open the SIP and RTP of every call that crossed the exchange, with fraud analysis, use a passive capture tool such as VoIPmonitor. Monitor dials from outside; it does not see internal traffic.
- Load testing an IVR. Monitor dials at the agreed pace, the way a customer does. It is not a load generator: it does not simulate thousands of simultaneous calls to see how far the IVR holds up.
- Health of the whole infrastructure. For network, servers and cloud on one dashboard, PRTG or Zabbix were built for that. Both can run alongside Monitor.
- Testing numbers inside many countries. Klearcom states testing in more than 100 countries. Monitor focuses on Brazilian numbers.
- Hosting in Brazil. Monitor’s platform is on servers in the United States. If your policy requires the platform to be hosted in Brazil, that matters.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best VoIP monitoring tools for Brazil?
It depends on the question. To know whether the network and servers are healthy: PRTG, Zabbix or SolarWinds. To analyze calls that already happened: VoIPmonitor. To know whether an 0800 number, an IVR or a SIP trunk completes calls right now: a test-call tool such as Sipfront, Klearcom, Cyara or Monitor by 2N5.
Does PRTG place test calls or only monitor the network?
In the pages we read, PRTG is a sensor-based monitor: SIP OPTIONS ping, QoS round trip and Cisco IP SLA, with MOS estimated from the network. We found no dialing to the public network, 0800 or IVR. To know whether an 0800 answers with the right message, you need a real call.
What is the difference between passive monitoring (VoIPmonitor) and active test calls?
Passive monitoring, like VoIPmonitor's, captures the SIP and RTP of calls that cross the exchange and places no calls. If nobody calls, or the failure is upstream of the exchange, it sees nothing. An active test call dials from outside at the agreed pace and shows the failure even with no customer traffic.
Is there a company that tests 0800 and IVR automatically in Brazil?
Yes, more than one. Monitor by 2N5 dials 0800 numbers, IVRs and SIP trunks, with DTMF navigation and an audio score measured on the call. Klearcom tests toll-free numbers and IVRs in more than 100 countries; whether it covers Brazilian 0800 numbers from inside Brazil, we did not verify.
Show me VoIP monitoring tools that place real test calls.
Sipfront, Klearcom, Cyara and Monitor by 2N5 place real test calls, and Infovista VistaCX Watch, the successor to Hammer VoiceWatch, schedules synthetic calls. In the sources we read, PRTG, Zabbix, VoIPmonitor and SolarWinds do not dial public numbers. The comparison pages show each tool's reach, its audio scoring and who runs the service.
